President Ruto Re-Assigns Principal Secretaries
President William Ruto has re-assigned Principal Secretaries within various Ministries in Kenya. The decison comes shortly after the dismissal of Dr. Josephine Mburu as the PS for Public Health and Professional Standards due to a procurement scandal at the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority.
According to the communication from the Head of Public Service, Felix Koskei, several changes have been made.
Mary Muriuki, who served in the State Department of Correctional Service under the Interior Ministry, will now assume the role of PS for Public Health and Professional Standards, replacing Dr. Mburu.
Esther Ngero, who held the position of overseeing Performance Management in the office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary, has been reassigned to the State Department of Correctional Service.

Engineer Peter Kiplangat Tum, the former PS incharge of Medical Services, has been moved to the Sports docket, while Jonathan Mueke (Sports) has been shifted to the Livestock Development wing in the Ministry of Agriculture.
Similarly, Ephantus Kimani, who previously served as PS in the Forest Department, has been transferred to the Irrigation department.
Harry Kimtai (Livestock Development) will now lead the Medical Service docket in the Health Ministry. Additionally, Gitonga Mugambi (Irrigation department) has been moved to the forestry docket.
The Head of State has also nominated Faith Njeri Harrison for the position of PS for Performane Management within the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary.
