Kirinyaga: Man Laid To Rest In Under 10 Minutes

Local residents gathered at the residence of Stanley Mugo, 60, to observe a swift burial that lacked any formalities or ceremonies. The family of the deceased, led by James Ngaire, shared that Stanlet Mugo had expressed his desire to be laid to rest without any elaborate proceedings.
“We took the body from the mortuary and took it directly to the grave as he wished,” Ngaire said.

Bewildered locals observed as fellow villagers conducted an atypical farewell by interring him.
“Last respect for the departed is expressed in so many ways, mostly the religion or traditional practices but we wonder why Mugo decided to be buried this way,” John Mugo Nyamu, the Chair of the burial committee asked.
At a certain juncture, confusion arose when a local clergyman endeavored to lead prayers, only to be halted by the deceased’s family members.
With a sense of surprise, onlookers observed as the casket carrying Mugo’s remains was gently lowered into the grave.
